Brian Davie is an award-winning Production Designer known for such films as Dragged Across Concrete, Crash Pad, and How to Rob a Bank.
Brian was raised between his native Vancouver and San Francisco before attending art school and university in Ontario. Shortly after graduation he followed his dreams into the movie business, beginning as a day labourer, before gradually working his way up through the ranks (as well as working through the challenges of dyslexia) to eventually become a member of the Art Department.
He first became accredited as a Production Designer in 1999, and during his lengthy career has worked alongside such notables as director Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Gladiator), director Bill Condon (Chicago, Dream Girls), and legendary producer Albert S Ruddy (The Godfather, Million Dollar Baby.)
Brian is past winner of the MOMA Award for Best Art Direction in advertising, the Leo Award for Best Production Design in a Feature Film, another Leo Award for Best Production Design in a Television Movie, and three additional Leo Award nominations. He also art directed the top-rated commercial for Super Bowl XXXVIII.
Brian’s guiding philosophy is that good production design should always enhance the story, and never distract from it.
To date he has designed over 65 films.
When not designing films, Brian enjoys golfing, the theatre, and spending time outdoors with his dog Rocky, who he sincerely believes MGM will select as the next James Bond!
